- is a way of being church for families involving fun
- is a church, not a craft club, that helps people encounter Jesus as Lord and Saviour
- is found across the world
- values are about being Christ-centred, for all ages, based on creativity, hospitality and celebration
At St Mary Magdalene, Great Burstead, our Messy Church meets once a month on a Monday afternoon from 3.30pm – 5.45pm. Usually this is in the church, but we use the church hall for any dates that fall in school holidays (see our dates below).
The sessions start with tea, coffee, squash and biscuits and then everyone, adults as well as children, have a go at the various craft activities and chat. The crafts are linked to a biblical theme. Around 5pm we start our worship time, which is followed by the sharing of a meal together. There’s always plenty of cake!
Children must be accompanied by an adult. There is no charge, but donations are welcome.
